On 25–26 September 2026, the HIKE4ALL project resumed its programme with a two-day event in Cantabria, northern Spain, dedicated to accessibility, inclusion and equal opportunities along hiking and pilgrimage routes. Organised in the framework of the European Week of Sport, the event brought together local organisations, institutions and international HIKE4ALL partners along the Camino Lebaniego.
The HIKE4ALL project was presented at the 15th Advisory Forum on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe, held on 23 – 25 September 2026 in Yerevan, Armenia. This year’s Forum, “Routes Through Time and Cultures – Education for Sustainable Heritage”, explored how Cultural Routes can contribute to education, inclusion and youth engagement.
Following its summer break, the HIKE4ALL project is resuming its travelling calendar with inclusive workshops and hikes across Spain, Türkiye, and France. Although these upcoming autumn events will bring the official event schedule to a close, the core mission to broaden accessibility across European walking routes remains ongoing.
On 25 and 26 September 2026 in Cantabria, Spain, the Camino Lebaniego will host two days of workshops, cultural visits and inclusive outdoor activities organised in connection with the European Week of Sport. The event will highlight the potential of cultural and pilgrimage routes to promote accessibility, well-being and social participation.
After 18 months of inspiring activities across Italy, Greece, and Türkiye, the HIKE project (HIKing for a Healthier LifestylE along European Cultural Routes) reached its successful conclusion in October 2025.
On 20 September 2025, the HIKE project was among the featured initiatives at the 8th edition of the OMCEO Congress held in Puglia and organised by Dr. Domenico Meleleo.
On 3rd July, the Europeana Communicators Community hosted a thought-provoking webinar titled “Cultural Heritage and Tourism in a Digital Sandbox: Can Our Sectors Just Get Along?”– part of a dedicated series exploring the intersections of culture and tourism.

Evropský projekt HIKE4ALL pokračoval ve své cestě po České republice víkendem inkluzivních aktivit na Cyrilometodějské stezce a znovu tak ukázal, že pěší turistika může být mocným nástrojem pro zajištění přístupnosti, podporu duševní i fyzické pohody a posílení sociálního začlenění. Akce propojily účastníky, místní komunity, spolky i další zainteresované strany s cílem propagovat venkovní aktivity přístupné všem bez ohledu na věk, zázemí či fyzické schopnosti.
Ve dnech 17.–19. dubna 2026 byl evropský projekt HIKE4ALL představen v Aquileia (Itálie) během Aquileia Walking Routes Festival, akce věnované evropským pěším trasám a poutním itinerářům, která zahrnovala túry, přednášky a aktivity podporující udržitelný cestovní ruch, kulturní dědictví a zapojení místních komunit v historickém městě Aquileia.
Evropský projekt HIKE4ALL zahájil své aktivity v Itálii ve dnech 17.–18. dubna 2026 dvěma dny workshopů, inkluzivních procházek a terénních aktivit ve městech Ivrea a Bollengo v regionu Piemont.
Ve dnech 19. a 20. ledna 2026 oficiálně začal evropský projekt HIKE4ALL dvoudenní online úvodní schůzkou, které se sešly týmy ze šesti zúčastněných zemí: Itálie, Španělska, Norska, Francie, České republiky a Turecka.

Organizado en el marco de la Semana Europea del Deporte, el evento reunió a organizaciones locales, instituciones y socios internacionales de HIKE4ALL en torno al Camino Lebaniego.
Los días 25 y 26 de septiembre de 2026, el programa itinerante de HIKE4ALL llega a Cantabria, España: el Camino Lebaniego acogerá dos jornadas de talleres, visitas culturales y actividades inclusivas al aire libre, organizadas en el marco de la Semana Europea del Deporte.
El evento pondrá de relieve el potencial de los itinerarios culturales y de peregrinación para fomentar la accesibilidad, el bienestar y la participación social.
Del 29 de abril al 2 de mayo de 2026, «Zancadas sobre Ruedas» —una asociación fuertemente comprometida con la inclusión, la accesibilidad y el deporte adaptado— completó los 72 km del Camino Lebaniego. Un total de 18 personas participaron en la caminata: seis participantes con discapacidad y doce voluntarios. Esta inspiradora experiencia representa un paso importante hacia las próximas caminatas de HIKE4ALL en Cantabria.
