The European project HIKE4ALL kickstarted its activities in Italy on 17–18 April 2026 with two days of workshops, inclusive walks and field activities held in Ivrea and Bollengo, in the region of Piedmont.
Piedmont will host the first HIKE4ALL events on the Via Francigena, offering workshops, inclusive walks, and activities to promote accessible tourism for all, including people with disabilities, while bringing together international partners to share best practices.
EAVF joined BIT Milano on 17 February to promote the Via Francigena and showcase the DETOUR project as support for tourism SMEs.
On 19 and 20 January 2026, the European project HIKE4ALL officially began with a two-day online kick-off meeting, bringing together the teams from the six participating countries: Italy, Spain, Norway, France, the Czech Republic, and Türkiye.
After 18 months of inspiring activities across Italy, Greece, and Türkiye, the HIKE project (HIKing for a Healthier LifestylE along European Cultural Routes) reached its successful conclusion in October 2025.
On 20 September 2025, the HIKE project was among the featured initiatives at the 8th edition of the OMCEO Congress held in Puglia and organised by Dr. Domenico Meleleo.
On 3rd July, the Europeana Communicators Community hosted a thought-provoking webinar titled “Cultural Heritage and Tourism in a Digital Sandbox: Can Our Sectors Just Get Along?”– part of a dedicated series exploring the intersections of culture and tourism.
We are excited to share that the HIKE has been featured on Tourism4SDGs.org, the platform developed by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism)!
