On 5–6 November 2026, the HIKE4ALL project will hold its final conference in Troyes, France, marking the conclusion of a year dedicated to promoting accessibility, inclusion and equal opportunities in hiking and outdoor activities along European Cultural Routes.
Hosted by the Templars Heritage Route European Federation (ThREF), the event will bring together project partners, local authorities, sports organisations and accessibility experts to share the project’s achievements, exchange good practices and explore future opportunities for inclusive outdoor tourism.
Following a series of inclusive events organised throughout 2026 in Italy, Norway, the Czech Republic, Spain and Türkiye, the final gathering will combine discussions and practical experiences along the European Templar Heritage Route.
The first day, 5 November, will feature the conference “Building More Accessible Tourism: Shared Perspectives and Inspiring Initiatives”, with presentations of project results, inspiring initiatives and discussions on public policies supporting accessible tourism. Among the speakers, Sibylle Bertail-Fassaert, Vice-President of the Aube Departmental Council, will address the importance of investing in accessible infrastructure, supporting local associations and promoting sport as a driver of inclusion, well-being and social cohesion. The afternoon will focus on inspiring personal experiences and local initiatives. Ultra-trail runner Peggie Papa will share her participation in the Marathon des Sables, while Pierre Soyer, President of the Aube Departmental Committee for Adapted Sports, will present initiatives promoting adapted sports across the territory.
On 6 November, participants will explore the Forêt d’Orient Regional Nature Park through an inclusive hike, interactive workshops and adapted outdoor activities, demonstrating practical approaches to removing barriers to nature-based experiences.
Beyond celebrating the project’s achievements, the event will offer an opportunity to strengthen cooperation among European Cultural Routes and explore how the lessons learned can inspire future initiatives. As HIKE4ALL draws to a close, its ambition remains: to contribute to a more inclusive European network of hiking and pilgrimage routes, where everyone can enjoy access to nature, culture and outdoor activities, regardless of their abilities.
Participation in the events is free of charge and open to everyone upon registration.
