The HIKE4ALL project was presented at the 15th Advisory Forum on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe, held on 23 – 25 September 2026 in Yerevan, Armenia.
This year’s Forum, “Routes Through Time and Cultures – Education for Sustainable Heritage”, explored how Cultural Routes can contribute to education, inclusion and youth engagement.
For HIKE4ALL, a key moment was the workshop on “Culture, Accessibility and Inclusion”, where Martina Janochova from Cyril and Methodius Route presented the project and its approach to making hiking and cultural heritage experiences more accessible to people with different needs and abilities. Together with other European experiences, the workshop offered an opportunity to discuss practical ways of improving accessibility and inclusion along Cultural Routes.
The results of the workshop were then presented during the Forum’s plenary session by Elena Dubinina, the project coordinator from the European Association of the Via Francigena ways, contributing to the wider discussion on education for sustainable heritage and inclusive participation.
The Forum was also an opportunity to strengthen cooperation within the HIKE4ALL network. Representatives of the Via Francigena, St Olav Ways and the Cyril and Methodius Route held an informal meeting to exchange updates on the project, share experiences from the activities carried out so far and discuss the next steps.
