On 29 April, the Municipality of Fidenza presented the 6th edition of the Francigen Fidenza Festival at the press conference in Bologna. The festival, scheduled from 5 to 10 May, will offer a rich programme of walks, presentations, talks and conferences dedicated to the Via Francigena and its territories.
During the press conference, HIKE4ALL was mentioned as part of European Association of the Via Francigena ways’s broader mission to make walking routes more inclusive and accessible. Both the Municipality of Fidenza and AEVF share a strong commitment to accessibility, with the common goal of promoting routes and events that are open to everyone and free from barriers. This vision is also reflected in the festival itself, which aims to welcome all participants and encourage access to the Via Francigena for walkers, visitors and local communities.
AEVF, as lead partner of HIKE4ALL, recalled the project during the press conference as a concrete example of its commitment to making walking routes more accessible and inclusive. This commitment is already taking shape through the first activities launched in Piedmont, which involved over 200 participants in workshops, inclusive walks and moments of exchange with institutions, associations, tourism stakeholders and citizens. In this context, the Via Francigena Festival represents an important opportunity to reaffirm accessibility as a key value for the future of walking routes, in line with AEVF’s mission and the objectives of HIKE4ALL.
